Breakfast in Honor of Ms. McKeen (Silk menu)

Boston, MA: Kyser & Dickinson, 1892. Silk ribbon. Folded silk 16 x 4 3/4 (40.5 x 12) folded 8 x 4 3/4 (20 x12 cm), peach colored silk menu, with fringe. Front has a picture of Miss. McKeen and the details of the breakfast at the Vendome in Boston.

Inside the fold--first section lists the guests, and the names of the reception committee, the next section has the menu and the back has a picture of the academy.

Large straight pin is securing the fold.

Philenia McKeen became head mistress of the school in 1859 and the Abbot Academy was founded in 1829 for girls and women. Near fine. Item #1135
