Woman's Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) Commemorative Ribbon and Pledge Card

1917. Ribbon and Card stock. Silk ribbon 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 (6 1/2 x 14 cm), and with 2 1/2 x 5 1/2 inches (6 1/2 x 14 cm) card, cream ribbon with blue and red stripes, saying,"Forty-forth Annual Convention National Woman's Christian Temperance Union - Washington, DC, Dec. 2-7 1917, Victory Gain 1917." Minor fraying to top and bottom, also some crease marks with the top of the ribbon curling down. On December 17, 1917 the House of Representatives passed a Constitutional Amendment prohibiting alcohol.

Card has perforation 2 inches from end with the WCTU pledge. The smaller section is a coupon. The pledge to obtain from alcohol is repeated on both parts of the card. Very good. Item #1184
