New York: APHRA Inc., 1969-71. Stapled wraps. This quarterly publication, running from 1969-1976, was a women's literary magazine with fiction, essays and poetry. The title refers to Aphra Behn (1640-1689), one of the first women to earn her living through writing.

Volumes 1, nos. 1-2, and Vol. 2 nos. 2-4: 8 1/2 x 6 3/4 inches (21.5 x 17 cm).

Vol. 2 no. 3 Summer 1971. Free Women Passion Pain Progress. "Judy Syfers" written in ink on upper front cover. Judy Syfers was a feminist writer famous for her essay, "I Want a Wife," which was published in the first edition of Ms. Magazine.Contributors include: Carolyn Heilbrun, Kate Chopin.
