Grier's Almanac for the States of North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, Louisiana, Texas, and Arkansas. Astronomical Calculations for the Year of Our Lord 1912 by Otis Ashmore, Savannah, Ga. Carefully Calculated for the Latitude and Meridian of Atlanta, Ga. and they will serve for all Adjacent States
Atlanta: Grier's Almanac Publishing Company, 1912. Pamphlet. 4-1/2 x 7-1/2" stapled newsprint wraps. Unpaginated, but [48] pages, illustrated throughout. A few age spots on the wraps, rear wrap with a dog-eared corner, previous owner's signature on the upper wrap and a few scattered contemporaneous notes internally, but very good or better. GRIER'S ALMANAC, published continuously since 1807, is named for amateur astronomer Robert Grier, who provided astronomical calculations for the almanac until his death in 1848. This 1912 edition, whose primary advertiser is the Shuptrine Company (everything from garden seeds to liver pills to face creams), was produced during the tenure of Otis Ashmore, who served as editor of the almanac from 1882 to 1934. Very Good. Item #538
